Kopienas Skapis is now closed due to the spread of COVID-19 infection. If someone had a particularly successful day, they ordered a \u201csospeso\u201d or<\/p>\n two coffees at a cafe, but drank only one. The second coffee then remained for someone whose day was not that good, who forgot their wallet or the coffee simply could not be afforded at the moment.<\/p>\n How does it work? Take your coffee with you, but pay for two. Tell the bartender that the second drink is suspended coffee, and we will write it down on a sticky note that it is a coffee that you paid for in advance and then put it on the glass wall at the bar. Anyone can come to us and see what drinks have been paid for, choose one of the paid-for options and give it to the bartender. Enjoy your drink, someone already paid for it! It is linked to stereotypes and gender roles and includes the belief that one sex or gender is superior to another. In extreme cases, sexism may eventually lead to sexual harassment, rape, and other forms of sexual violence.<\/p>\n Ka\u0146epes Kult\u016bras centrs together with European partners launched a \u201cSexism Free Night\u201d\u00a0 project to promote a safer and more equal nightlife environment. The first part of the project is collecting data with a websurvey to better understand the reality of sexism and sexual violence in European nightlife environments. This study is funded by the European Union\u2019s Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme (2014-2020) and is promoted Health and Community Foundation (ES); Faculty of Education and Psychology of the Universidade Cat\u00f3lica Portuguesa (PT); Clubcommission (DE); Kanepes Cultural Center (LV); European Network NEWNET and ReGeneration (RS).<\/p>\n Sexism Free Night project aims to reduce sexual violence and sexism in nightlife scenes by raising awareness among those who go out and by promoting safer and more equal nightlife environments for everyone. The main objectives of the project are to engage professionals working in nightlife and festival environments, and work on denormalization of sexism and prevention of sexual violence. Project also wants to raise awareness about the importance of bystanders, produce knowledge from collected data, and by working with professionals, build best practice guidelines for harm reduction specialists in nightlife environments.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The idea of Repair Cafe was born in 2009, when the first Repair cafe event in Amsterdam was organized by the initiative\u2019s author Martine. The motivation to set up this non-commercial private food \u201ctrading point\u201d follows the premise and belief that there is no overproduction of food but an unstable balance of food \u201cowners\u201d. It is an initiative committed to fighting food waste – starting from private households. It brings together food-saviors, who share not only their food but also their commitment to sustainable environmental and consumption goals. Instead of throwing unwanted or -needed food away, everyone is welcome to use it rather than waste it. Within this, Kopienas Skapis follows the motto: sharing is caring!
